Elithion: the Li-ion solutions experts

Elithion is a privately held Corporation in Boulder, Colorado, dedicated to the development and marketing of electronic solutions for the Lithium Ion battery industry.

Elithion designs and manufactures Battery Management Systems (BMS), large Li-ion packs and battery modules for stationary battery installations.

The Elithion team has comprehensive experience in electronics design as well as extensive expertise in validated and proven battery systems engineering. Their capabilities include working with large cell suppliers and integrating custom solutions.

Elithion was founded in 2008 by Davide Andrea (author of the book "Battery Management Systems for Large Lithion-Ion Battery Packs") and was one of the first companies to offer an off-the-shelf Li-ion Battery Management System. The team has expanded to include veterans in technical customer support, innovative marketing and proven leadership in the advanced battery industry.

Our worldwide client installations encompass numerous variations spanning the automotive, utility vehicle, marine, power utility and telecommunications industries.

Davide Andrea, Founder, CTO Davide Andrea

Davide Andrea is internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in Li-ion battery management technology. He is the author of the book "Battery Management Systems for Large Lithium-Ion Battery Packs , which was published Sep 30th 2010,

He is a forensic expert in Li-ion battery incidents, and an expert witness in matters of Li-ion technology.

He founded Elithion in August 2008 with the goal of making his Lithium Ion Battery Management System technology available to an industry searching for Li-Ion BMS solutions. He brings to Elithion an unique ability to develop all aspects of BMS and battery products in a rapid and effective manner.

Previously, he co-founded Hybrids Plus, where, using his BMS technology, he developed Prius and Escape PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) conversions. There, he also developed the Inverger™, a bidirectional Charger / Inverter for V2G (Vehicle To Grid) applications.

Previously, he offered electronic consulting services through DAVIDE, DBA.

He has 25 years experience in electronics design, and had been in the Li-Ion Battery Management System field since 2004.

He holds a BS is Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (University of Colorado, 1982).

Zach Tyler, Operations and Application Engineering Zach Tyler

Zach Tyler brings with him 23 years of development experience in the electric vehicle world.

For nearly 7 years Zach was Chief Designer at Boulder Electric Vehicles, which designed and produced a purpose built class 3 electric delivery vehicle for Fed Ex and other primary delivery companies.

Zach has been involved in product design, research and development and manufacturing process design throughout his career.

Zach brings extensive team management experience from cross functional multidisciplinary teams.

Eva Angeles, Manufacturing Lead Eva Angeles

Eva Angeles has more than 25 years of experience in electronic manufacturing and leadership. She has worked in a variety of industries including battery pack manufacturing, aerospace, R&D and memory storage. She has also been a small business owner doing electronic contract manufacturing.

Eva has been certified in following: J-STD-001, IPC-600 and 610D, Mil-Spec-2000, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)

She has trained and managed employees in a number of her previous positions especially as a business owner.

Greg Lundie, Technical operations manager Greg Lundie

Greg Lundie is a multi-disciplinary engineer with more than 15 years of experience developing new products as well as technical customer support and writing quotes.

Previously, he was a product Engineer for LCD Panels at Micron Technology Inc, / Displaytech, Inc. for 13 years.

He has extensive expertise with thin film coatings and liquid crystal display manufacturing.

He has worked in and maintained class 100, 1000 and 10,000 cleanrooms, and has been a technical trainer for technicians and engineers.

He has been involved in troubleshooting and process verification with multi-national teams, including on-site diagnosis in the US, Japan and China.

He has a B.A. in Physics from the Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

Elithion was formed in the summer of 2008 as an LLC, for the purpose of commercializing Davide Andrea's Li-Ion BMS technology.

With its Lithiumate product line, Elithion quickly became the de facto leader in commercially available, distributed, Li-Ion BMSs and has retained that position since.

The company was restructured as a S-Corp in Jan 2011.

In March 2012, Elithion started its large battery production program.

In August 2013, Elithion moved to its present, larger headquarters.

The 'ə' in the logo is not meant to be a "schwa" symbol, but simply as a way to emphasize the 'e'.

English speakers may pronounce Elithion as "ee-LITH-yon".
