Elithion is a privately held Corporation in Boulder, Colorado, dedicated to the development and marketing of electronic solutions for the Lithium Ion battery industry.
Elithion designs and manufactures Battery Management Systems (BMS), large Li-ion packs and battery modules for stationary battery installations.
The Elithion team has comprehensive experience in electronics design as well as extensive expertise in validated and proven battery systems engineering. Their capabilities include working with large cell suppliers and integrating custom solutions.
Elithion was founded in 2008 by Davide Andrea (author of the book "Battery Management Systems for Large Lithion-Ion Battery Packs") and was one of the first companies to offer an off-the-shelf Li-ion Battery Management System. The team has expanded to include veterans in technical customer support, innovative marketing and proven leadership in the advanced battery industry.

Davide Andrea, Founder, CTO
Davide Andrea is a leading experts in Li-ion battery management technology.
He is the author of the book "Battery Management Systems for Large Lithium-Ion Battery Packs , which was published Sep 30th 2010,
and of the soon-to be-published book "Li-ion Batteries and Applications".
He is a forensic expert in Li-ion battery incidents, and an expert witness in matters of Li-ion technology.
He founded Elithion in August 2008 with the goal of making his Lithium Ion Battery Management System technology available to an industry searching for Li-Ion BMS solutions.
He brings to Elithion an unique ability to develop all aspects of BMS and battery products in a rapid and effective manner.
Previously, he co-founded Hybrids Plus, where, using his BMS technology, he developed Prius and Escape PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) conversions.
There, he also developed the Inverger™, a bidirectional Charger / Inverter for V2G (Vehicle To Grid) applications.
Previously, he offered electronic consulting services through DAVIDE, DBA.
He has 55 years experience in electronics design, and had been in the Li-Ion Battery Management System field since 2004.
He holds a BS is Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Colorado, 1982.

Elithion's facilities house Management, technical services, R & D and manufacturing.
Manufacturing is vertically integrated, except for electronic assemblies,
which are built by Elithion's EMS partners in Colorado.

Elithion was formed in the summer of 2008 as an LLC, for the purpose of commercializing Davide Andrea's Li-Ion BMS technology.
With its Lithiumate product line, Elithion quickly became the de facto leader in commercially available, distributed, Li-Ion BMSs and has retained that position since.
The company was restructured as a S-Corp in Jan 2011.
In March 2012, Elithion started its large battery production program in a second location in Boulder.
In August 2013, Elithion consolidated its operations in a single location in Gunbarrel / Boulder, CO.
In September 2017, Elithion moved to its present, larger headquarters, in Longmont, CO.

"Elithion" is a contraction of "ELectronics for LITHIum ION".
The 'ə' in the logo is not meant to be a "schwa" symbol, but simply as a way to emphasize the 'e'.
English speakers may pronounce Elithion as "ee-LITH-yon".
Greek speakers: we assure you that, when we named the company, we did not know the meaning of "ηλίθιον"!
Artist Lori Mattina created the Elithion logo and the website look and feel.
